Newspaper editors are no fools. At least when it comes to getting people to read an article. Some good guys that try to be senistive, but too much so. Guys that may get a little moody at times, but are generally decent enough. In other words most huys just said screw it, they just can’t win. Nice guys, as one finds out at the very end of titlating article are like the persistant turtle. Once those women get through their bad boys stage they tend to settle down with someone that is more reliable, and darn it, nicer too, so take that lonely old leather clad biker boy.
How many movies or TV shows have we all watched in witch the message is, its not too late, get up go change your life. Brit Hume is getting along in years, but I’m not an ageist. I don’t think it is too late for Brit to becaome a journalist. I know that Fox says that Brit is their news director, but that title is not the same as being a real journalist, Hume falsely claimed Obama’s half brother told The Jerusalem Post that Obama had a “Muslim background”
On the June 16 edition of Fox News’ Special Report, host Brit Hume pointed to a statement on Sen. Barack Obama’s website that Obama “has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian” and stated: “But Obama’s half brother is not so sure.” Hume continued: “Malik Obama tells The Jerusalem Post that ‘if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background.’ ” But as ABC senior national correspondent Jake Tapper pointed out in a June 18 blog post, the article — which has apparently been removed from The Jerusalem Post’s website (a cached version of what appears to be the article in question is available here) — indicated that Malik Obama did not speak directly with the Post but, rather, gave an interview to Israel’s Army Radio, which Tapper reported that ABC News had obtained. Moreover, nowhere in the audio of the interview that Tapper posted did Malik Obama assert that Obama “will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background.” Tapper wrote that the article, which was cited by several conservative bloggers, “was a sloppy paraphrase that emerged as false evidence.”
Hume’s annual salary is in the seven figure range. I know people that make between ten and twenty dollars an hour who if they screwed up that badly on their jobs would be out on their ass in a heart beat. One standard for the Conservative Beltway pundits and another for the rest of us.
