Your height dictates how jealousy strikes

Men, who generally felt most nervous about attractive, rich and strong rivals, were increasingly relaxed, the taller they were themselves. Women, on the other hand, were most jealous of others’ beauty and charm, but least so if their own height was average.

This makes evolutionary sense, say the researchers, because previous findings suggest that whilst taller men do best with the ladies, it is women of medium height who enjoy the best health, fertility and popularity with men.

Women of average height were more prone to jealousy if their rival was tall. Tall isn’t a virtue like a personality trait so it does seem that it has an link with the evolution of mating advantages. Funny how much of the time our self perception is focused through a social prism when it might be at least partially formed by the biological imperatives of our grandparents a thousand generations back.

A little too gossipy in tone, but funny Republicans don’t just steal from us– They steal from each other too; it’s in thier political DNA

Tomorrow’s Washington Post reports on the ongoing investigation into massive fraud inside the Republican Party. Earlier today I read about how Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who John McBush plans to make Secretary of Defense, was systematically robbed by one of his assistants over a 5 year period. She got away with over $200,000 from Graham, who made national headlines when he boasted about finding $5 bargains while shopping for carpets in war-torn Baghdad.
