Interesting interview with Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin), Who’s Listening to Your Phone Call?

Supporters of the PAA say that if these calls and e-mails were subject to the regular FISA court, it would take hundreds of lawyer and analyst hours to prepare them for the appropriate review.
Listen, a criticism like that just shows no understanding of what’s going on here. Every time a foreign conversation runs through a transmitter in L.A., there was an archaic technicality in the law that would require individualized warrants [in order for the government to intercept them]. We all said, fine, we agree with changing that, but in cases when the program ends up impacting Americans, there has to be some oversight.

Senator Feingold calmly lays out the facts. Facts are those things that liberals tend to think solves most problems. Get out the facts and they will prevail, but like water and ducks backs facts just don’t stick for some reason for some people. There is an emotional attraction to yelling that there will be mass deaths and untold catastrophe if we don’t let George and Dick and the rest of the gang dismantle even more of our liberties.

An Altar Beyond Olympus for a Deity Predating Zeus

But archaeologists say they have now found the ashes, bones and other evidence of animal sacrifices to some pre-Zeus deity on the summit of Mount Lykaion, in the region of Greece known as Arcadia. The remains were uncovered last summer at an altar later devoted to Zeus.

[  ]…“We certainly know that Zeus and a female version of Zeus were worshiped in prehistoric times,” Dr. Davis continued in an e-mail message. “The trick will be in defining the precise nature of the site itself before historical times.”

I’ve always thought it curious how much of the Bible paralleled Greek mythology. One wonders if this will set back the origination of many biblical parables even further.
